Ignition Timing – Series “E”

I had a lot of problems with this until I realised that, when the pointer on the crankcase was aligned with the groove on the crankshaft pulley, the engine was not at TDC on No.1 cylinder. Presumably, at some stage, either the pulley or the timing case cover had been replaced.

Solution – Cut a new groove in the pulley to coincide with TDC.
